The Urban Policy Lab Case Competition, usually held in January, is the only Munk case competition focused on city issues. Participants have the opportunity to apply their creative and analytical abilities to a pressing policy challenge from the perspective of local decision makers. Past competitions have focused on affordable housing, transit-oriented development, digital government, economic competitiveness, and local mental health services, judged by urban policy professionals from a diverse group of organizations, including: the City of Toronto, City of Mississauga, York Region, Government of Ontario, Metrolinx, Pembina Institute, Brookfield Institute, and Urban Strategies Inc. All Munk MPP and MGA students are eligible to participate.

Registration for the 2023-24 event is temporarily on hold, and we will not be accepting any registrations until further notice.
